I’ve been a bit brain-dead the past few weeks. It’s performance season in the land of music teachers. I had my kindergarten performance at the end of March, and then the 3rd grade recorder concert last week. Both went extremely well, but they leave me very drained. I have one more to go at the… Continue reading Project of the Week

Project of the Week
Does this count? Happy Easter! p.s. Last week’s garden post was technically my project of the week, since I did have to plant many new seeds. I should’ve specified that :)
A Happy Garden
Warning: lots of pictures in the post! My garden is beautiful. Thanks to my awesome friends at my “Help Jenny With Her Garden” party, my garden is simply flourishing out in the front yard. I had a beautiful, bountiful harvest all during fall and winter, and I’m sad I didn’t document it very well. Here… Continue reading A Happy Garden
Project of the Week
Actually, make that “Project of the Past Two Weeks”. Tada! In case you’re wondering what it is, it’s a combo trellis for my garden (cucumbers and squash, specifically) and shade for our front door/window, which get quite toasty in the summer. I got the idea from here. Phil’s sister sent me that link last year… Continue reading Project of the Week
Project of the week
My goal is to do my blog post on Mondays. Let’s pretend it’s last Monday, ok? I definitely was NOT ignoring my goal and playing Skyrim and sipping tea all day while it’s rained/snowed outside. So my project of the week is actually three different projects. Three very simple ones that were on my list.… Continue reading Project of the week
Make-it Fridays. Or Mondays. Whatever.
This name I borrowed from my awesome friend with electric blue hair, Amanda Roberts, owner of Geek Details. She holds weekly gatherings where it’s an open invitation for people to come over and make things. I think they started at Make-it Mondays, and then she switched it to Fridays (scroll down a bit on her page… Continue reading Make-it Fridays. Or Mondays. Whatever.
Google Reader, You’ll Be the Death of Me
One of my favorite things to do on my mornings off is to make a cup of coffee (I use the Peruvian from Adventure Coffee Roasting and the amazing, everyone-who-drinks-coffee-must-have Aeropress) and read my feeds on google reader. My list of subscriptions is pretty long, and they all have to do with cooking, crafting, or sewing.… Continue reading Google Reader, You’ll Be the Death of Me
Schedule for China!
We finally have a rough draft of our tour schedule for China. (If you click on the map, it will take you the google maps) I’m so excited! We leave from Tucson on May 16th and fly to LAX and Gaungzhou (roughly pronounced “gwang jo”). It’s Southeast by Hong Kong. Then we take a 2.5 hour… Continue reading Schedule for China!
Guessing Game
We get to travel somewhere in May. Somewhere overseas. For a month. Phil will be the sound man for a jazz group, which means all his expenses paid and then some. Here’s your clue. Ready? I made it super hard… … Continue reading Guessing Game
New Garden Location = Success!
The garden in the front yard is flourishing! I finally feel like a real gardener! Everything I planted is growing. I’m thinning plants. Already there are baby cucumbers. There is a nice butternut squash growing. I already harvested radishes. There are little and big sprouts of things everywhere! Although, there is one problem in paradise.… Continue reading New Garden Location = Success!
