Can it be?? A Post from Jenny?

Hello, my name is Jenny, and I’m a slacker at blogging.

Well, it’s been a long time, my friends. My reason is…..I just didn’t feel like blogging. Too many other things to do. And it has nothing to do with the Phil and Jenny Blog merger to this site, coincidental as it was.

I won’t even attempt to play catch up, there’s been too much. I do want to post some pictures soon from past events…like visiting my adorable nieces, our St. Patty’s Day party, and who knows what else is on my camera that I haven’t downloaded yet (see, I am a slacker in other areas too!).

On a bright note – IT’S APRIL!!! I didn’t think I could make it, and I have. My spring break starts this Thursday (for those unfamiliar with the odd habits of TUSD, their spring break is Thursday-Monday. A jip, yes, don’t get me started). After spring break the rest of the year is a fuzzy blur. The fact that you can count the weeks left on one hand is usually a exciting marker in time (in the life of a teacher).

For my much anticipated, well deserved spring break I am traveling up to Havasu. My adoring hubby cannot accompany due to it being a big church weekend and all….what’s with all this Easter hullabaloo? (j/k!). My plans when I get to Havasu? Big stuff….my mom and I plan to float in the pool all day everyday and drink margaritas, lemon drop martinis, pina coladas and whatever else my Dad wants to make :) Oh, and of course, shopping whenever possibly. Busy schedule, I know. I hope I don’t burn myself out with all that planned activity. I haven’t been up to my parent’s casa in quite some time, so I am really looking forward to the trip. Plus, I am just looking forward to getting out of town and leaving normal life behind for a few days of sunshiney bliss. I promise I will wear sunscreen! (I always do).

This week at school is fun and a piece of cake. It is a 3 day week, and I’m doing the same songs with all my classes. My favorite is “Shakey, Shakey Egg”. Very simple, very catchy, very fun! Of course you have to have the students make egg shakers to go along with the song!!! I will sing it for you upon request and a donation of $1 dollar.

So, in conclusion, life is good. I love my husband. I love our life together. I love our house (even when it is attacked by weeds…). I love my job. I love that Phil loves his job. I love the grace and freedom and peace that comes from God. I love our friends. I love our family. I love our cat, Lili. Life is good.
