Gmail is now Google Mail! You heard it here first, folks! Also: Who thinks it was law-suit related? UPDATE: I guess it was for temporary testing, because as of 10:51am the next morning, it is back to Gmail. I knew I should’ve taken pictures.

Consolidate Your Email Accounts
Do you have too many email addresses? You know, one for work, one for home, one for spam, one for that not-profit you’re involved with? I have a solution: GMail! I’ve finally consolidated all my email addresses into a single GMail account. I receive mail from each of the accounts, and I can send email… Continue reading Consolidate Your Email Accounts
The Mile Wide Road Conspiracy
(this is a long post, so brainless zombies should skip to the pictures at the end) Some years back, I heard a rumor from my buddies that there was an old shady road at the west end of Speedway. It was described to me as a dirt road (which Speedway turns into), where one travels… Continue reading The Mile Wide Road Conspiracy
Google Calendar, part 2
Well, as it seems, Google still hasn’t activated calendar.google.com, so it looks like we’ll be waiting forever. But while you wait, check out HipCal, an awesome AJAX-driven calendar with some great features. While it isn’t integrated with GMail, it’ll do for now. In other news, Google Video is now offering MacGyver episodes, along with 5… Continue reading Google Calendar, part 2
Google Calendar
I just realized that I’m not keeping a consistent calendar. I need to. But, there isn’t any offering that meets my (and most of the Web 2.0 generation’s) needs yet. I can’t use Outlook Calendar. It’s too clunky, and only portable when you’re part of a corporation with Exchange, which I’m not anymore. I can’t… Continue reading Google Calendar
Firefox Multiple-Tab Homepages
Here’s a neat trick that your trusty Firefox can perform: 1. Open up all the sites you read every morning/afternoon/evening. I decided on Gmail (which collects all my mail accounts) and Bloglines (which collects all my RSS feeds). Open each site in a separate tab. 2. Now in the Options (Preferences in Linux) dialogue, click… Continue reading Firefox Multiple-Tab Homepages
Jenny’s Got a Gun Blog
Sorry, no more Aerosmith references, I promise. Jenny hooked herself up to xanga (without my help I might add) and has officially joined the blogosphere. Why she didn’t just post here, I’m not sure of. I’d pick self-hosted WordPress over Xanga any day. I guess that defines the difference between Geek and Not-Geek. Jenny’s Blog
The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe Review
I posted a review of the movie over at NarniaWeb. I was slightly less than satisfied, but I need to see it again before making final judgement. From the review: I can’t decide about the film score. I will say that the use of electronic drums, electronic pianos and harpsichords throughout didn’t fit at all.… Continue reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe Review
Kubuntu Isn’t Making the Grade
I haven’t touched my Kubuntu desktop in about 2 weeks (about the time I ceased being an IT administrator), and it is taking some will power to try and convince myself to get back into it. Here exist 3 MAJOR shortcomings of Linux in general, not just Kubuntu/Ubuntu/Debian. No truly professional, responsive office suite. OpenOffice.org2… Continue reading Kubuntu Isn’t Making the Grade
And the winner is… PODxt Live!
So here’s what I just spent $$$ on: 36 amp models (vintage & modern, Fenders, Marshalls, Vox, etc.) 24 cabinet models with 4 mic models 80+ stompbox and studio effects, including everything from my DL-4 Delay Modeler (we’re talking distortion pedals, fuzz, chorus, synth, flangers, phasers, compressors, reverbs, and stuff I can’t even describe) Built-in… Continue reading And the winner is… PODxt Live!
